Patrick Chapman is an award-winning writer based in Dublin, Ireland.

In 2003 he wrote Burning the Bed, based on his short story published in the Irish Times. This multi-award-winning short starred Gina McKee and Aidan Gillen, and was directed by Denis McArdle. He has also written the audio play Doctor Who: Fear of the Daleks (Big Finish); 17 episodes of children’s television: the CBeebies series Garth & Bev (Kavaleer Productions); Wildernuts (Kavaleer); and Bubble Bath Bay (Telegael/Essential).

His six poetry collections include The Darwin Vampires (Salmon, 2010) and A Promiscuity of Spines: New & Selected Poems (Salmon, 2012). His books of fiction are The Wow Signal (Bluechrome, 2007) and The Negative Cutter (Arlen House, 2014.) With the poet Dimitra Xidous, in 2013 he founded the international poetry periodical The Pickled Body.

He won first prize for a story in the 2003 Cinescape Genre Literary Contest, was twice a finalist in the Hennessy Literary Awards and in 2010  received a coveted Pushcart Prize nomination.

In parallel with his continuing advertising and television writing career, building on the success of The Martian Chronicles and The Boy from Aleppo Who Painted the War, Chapman is developing future audio and film projects for B7 Media.
